“Please don’t apologize for being tired,” he told her.
Amira looked surprised.
He asked whether she was studying, and she explained her ambitions. She told him about her family, her responsibilities, and her hope of eventually creating a better life for herself.
She did not ask him for money. In fact, she seemed uncomfortable discussing her difficulties.
“I don’t expect anyone to solve my problems,” she explained. “I just want the opportunity to work hard and finish what I started.”
Those words stayed with him.
Before leaving, the sheikh asked the manager to arrange a meeting with Amira the following week. He wanted to discuss a possible opportunity.
Amira wasn’t sure what to expect.
The Offer She Never Expected
A few days later, Amira arrived at a quiet office building. The sheikh was waiting for her with an assistant.
He explained that he supported several educational and community projects. After hearing about her determination, he wanted to offer her a place in a training and scholarship program.
The opportunity would help cover part of her education expenses and provide career guidance. It would also allow her to reduce some of her working hours so she could concentrate on her studies.
Amira listened in disbelief.
“Why would you do this for me?” she finally asked.
The sheikh answered calmly:
“Because talent and determination should not disappear simply because someone has financial difficulties. You have worked hard to reach this point. Sometimes, all a person needs is an opportunity.”
Amira struggled to find the right words.
She had spent so long believing that she had to face every difficulty alone that receiving help felt almost unfamiliar.
“Are you sure I deserve this?” she asked.
He smiled.
“You don’t need to prove your worth by exhausting yourself.”
