Choosing Your Milk
The milk you use can change the flavor and consistency of your pudding.
Regular dairy milk gives the pudding a creamy, mildflavor. Almond milk provides a lighter nutty taste, while coconut milk can make the pudding especially rich and fragrant. Oat milk gives a naturally smooth texture and slightly sweet flavor.
You can use whatever milk you already have available. If you prefer a particularly thick pudding, using a little less milk can help create a firmer consistency.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Measure the Chia Seeds
Start by measuring 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and placing them into a clean bowl, jar, or small container.
Measuring the seeds accurately is usefulbecause the amount of liquid determines how thick the pudding becomes. If you add substantially more milk without increasing the chia seeds, the finished pudding may remain quite loose.
Step 2: Add the Milk
Pour ½ cup of milk over the chia seeds.
Immediately give the mixture a good stir. Make sure the
seeds are distributed throughout the milk instead of sitting together at the bottom.
Step 3: Add the Sweetener
Add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup.
The amount you need depends on your preferred sweetness. If you’replanning to add sweet fruit, you may want to use less sweetener.
You can also leave out the sweetener and add sweetness later with fruit.
Step 4: Add Vanilla
Add ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Vanilla is optional, but it gives the pudding a pleasant
dessert-like aroma and helps bring the other flavors together.
For a different flavor, you can replace vanilla with a small amount of cinnamon or unsweetened cocoa powder.
Step 5: Add Greek Yogurt
For an extra creamy pudding, stir in 1–2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt.
